2008
The Redundant Architects Recreation Association (RARA) is a creative collective that delivers in-situ projects in the public realm, creating interfusions of art, architecture, participatory research and design with a strong focus on setting up collaborative processes of work with local communities.
The RARA team has grown since 2008 around the creation of a shared workshop and studio space and the gathering of individuals with multiple backgrounds such as art, planning, architecture, sociology, design and fabrication. Our interdisciplinary approach to projects aims to address the environmental, social, economical and physical dimensions of the sites we work in to develop projects valuing what is already there and to foster unique senses of place.
Our open access workspace in Clapton allows us to provide long and short term users with truely affordable space in order to continue their individual practice but with a strong emphasis on encouraging participation in our collective endeavours.
